and the adventures begin...

dear me, everything that could possibly go wrong did on my trip to Montreal! Firstly, I nearly missed my flight to LA from Sydney, as I had to get one of those security checks and the first plane was running a little late (it didn't help that I had no idea in the world what I was doing at the airport!) When I finally arrived in LA I missed the first flight to Montreal... and the second... and the third! See on the second flight I had to go via Torronto and everybody catching the connecting flight to Montreal missed it. Sooo.. we were given the next flight at around midnight but it was delayed and then it was cancelled! So the next thing I knew I was stuck in Torronto airport overnight! Out of all of these travelling nightmares I did make some great friends though. While waiting in the line to catch our second flight to Montreal I made friends with a French man called Kevin. He was very lovely and helped me learn a little Frnch while we waited in the looong lines! I also met a Canadian named Alex. We stayed at the airport overnight and caught the plane to Montreal together. Out of sympathy the ladies at the airport upgraded us to business class which was definetly a bonus! The third friend I made was an Australian man called Ben. I met him in LA and he was very, very nice to talk to. All of these people I met made my rather overwhelming trip very memorable. To conclude my hilariously eventful trip to Montreal my luggage got lost so I now sit in the Cirque residence jet lagged, luggageless but very excited to start everything tomorrow morning!

Farewells

Getaway

My room has been my get away for so many years. It has been the one place I can decorate and arrange just the way I like. When I have been down, bored or feeling creative, I disappear into my room for hours, rearranging and decorating while my music plays. I think it has been like gardening for me, sort of therapeutic! I think I will miss this escape when I am in Montreal, and especially when I am travelling. I can only take so much with me, and it is difficult to make room in my suitcase for things that remind me of home. I think it will be interesting to see how the other artists cope with living away from home. At least I can make my apartment homely and cosy for eight months but once I am on the road I will have to get inventive!

Old Jumpers

I have been collecting ridiculously silly jumpers for about four years. My collection has grown rather large and I am now in a serious dilemma about what jumpers to take with me to Montreal. I would love to take them all, but I just don't think thats going to happen! My sisters and my friends love my collection, and they often end up wearing one of them while at my house or out and about. Here are some of my favourite jumpers. Note: the christmas theme one Lily is wearing has never been worn in public so don't stress!

Housesitting again...

dear me Claudia

Claudia decided to take my SLR camera with us when we were walking the dogs and going to IGA. We definetly had our hands full with two dogs, a large camera and shopping bags, but it was fun. My camera keeps playing up, some images are not appearing and it keeps saying the memory card is full... very frustrating.

Hyde Park picnic

These two silly dogs, Winifred and Bella decided jumping in the lake at Hyde Park would be fun...

Somewhere in the middle of nowhere

These photos are from a walk trail somewhere in between Margret River and Pemberton but I can't remember exactly what it was called! But anyway, it was very pretty and turned out to be a lovely walk on a very, very cold morning.

Clowning Around

Last night mother threw a bon voyage party for me and the theme was circus. My camera was shared around a fair bit and lots of funny pictures were taken. Here they are...
