Some pretty places.

Tear down!

After 3 months of exploration, 5 months of intense creation and 119 shows between April 19th and July 15th, Amaluna is on the road! Sunday night marked our last show in Montreal, tour has officially started and I am off to Quebec City tomorrow to begin the second phase of my adventure! It is crazy how fast 119 shows went, but I certainly feel like this one week break is needed. 3 months of 10 shows a week and one day break in most cases certainly took its toll, the Amaluna cast and crew very warmly welcomed our break after a long stretch of shows and creation. But this isn’t to say the shows weren’t enjoyable, each night performing was an absolute pleasure. I have shared so many fun and memorable moments with my cast and the public of Montreal who viewed the shows. The repetition is yet to become a problem, each show still feels unique and I am always discovering new moments and interesting things to watch. Whenever low on motivation I just had to look at the smiles on the audience’s faces and I felt energised again. The ‘tear down’ of the big top was a hectic an exciting thing to experience. 100 or so extra people were employed to handle the huge job of packing up and changing cities. Everything started to come down at the beginning of last week, it was all very gradual until Sunday when things came down so rapidly I couldn’t keep up. Cirque has developed such a fast and efficient system, one minute we had our comfortable artistic tent and the next minute it was completely gone. But soon enough it’ll all be set up in Quebec City  and Amaluna will be back again!
